Vinland Saga is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name by Makoto Yukimura. The anime adaptation was produced by Wit Studio and aired from July to December 2019.
The story is set in medieval Scandinavia and follows the adventures of Thorfinn, a young warrior seeking revenge against his father's killer. Thorfinn is the son of Thors, a legendary warrior who renounced violence and settled down to raise his family.
The series explores themes of honor, morality, and the consequences of violence. The series features intense action scenes and beautiful animation, as well as a haunting soundtrack by composer Yutaka Yamada.
Vinland Saga has been praised for its compelling characters, gripping storytelling, and historical accuracy. The anime has been renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere in 2022.
